About
Luan Gonzalez
I started in 2009 administering web hosting on Red Hat, Apache and MySQL. From 2010 to 2017 I built and ran high-availability VMware and Hyper-V platforms, multi-organisation Exchange and Windows hosting, and the networking and storage under them. In 2017 I moved into pre-sales and cloud project management: assessing traditional data centres and planning their migration to Azure and hybrid environments. In 2018 I led the rollout of a vSphere platform with vCenter, NSX and vCloud Director. Since late 2018 I have worked with Red Hat: first as an OpenShift and Kubernetes consultant for a large bank, then from 2020 to 2026 in enterprise cloud infrastructure, with bare-metal and virtual RHEL servers, container platforms, continuous integration with Jenkins and Chef, and troubleshooting shared production services.

Limits
What I don't do
I don't offer 24/7 on-call, migrations of thousands of virtual machines or custom application development. I don't administer vSphere 8 or VMware Cloud Foundation today: my VMware experience runs to 2018. I don't resell licences or take vendor commissions, so if another platform fits better than OpenShift Virtualization, I will tell you.
